The ships were in port by dawn and are scheduled to sail out together about 5 p.m.
'The Queen Elizabeth 2 has called at Port Everglades since 1971 and the Queen Mary 2 made her North American debut at the port in 2004,' Broward County Mayor Lois Wexler said. 'Now we extend a royal welcome to the Queen Victoria.'
The ships can be seen from the south end of For Lauderdale Beach, between the 17th Street Causeway and John U. Lloyd Beach State Park.
