Radiological controls included in energy bill
The senators and congressmen negotiating a compromise energy bill agreed Tuesday to include a provision that would increase controls over the import, export and domestic sale of materials that could be used for a dirty bomb.
The provision, pushed by Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., requires the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to develop regulations for controlling sales and create a tracking system for these materials.
