Ramsdell heads CEE board

   The Washington-based Coalition for Employment Through Exports (CEE) has elected Christine Ramsdell, director of legislative affairs at The Boeing Co., to serve as board chairwoman.

   At Boeing, Ramsdell focuses on international trade and export finance issues. “Export finance is an essential tool for U.S. exporters, especially in these challenging economic times,” she said in a statement on Wednesday.

   “Boeing has always played an active leadership role in the association and has been at the forefront of our advocacy efforts to promote U.S. exports, revamp the outdated U.S. export controls system and press for Ex-Im Bank reform and reauthorization, among other policy priorities,” said CEE Director of Government Relations Nichole Westin.

   The CEE also elected to its board:

   ' Philip Vaughn, senior director of government relations at Fluor Corp., as vice chairman.

   ' Steven Howlett, senior vice president at General Electric, as treasurer.

   ' Westin as secretary.

   In addition, the CEE board voted to add National Foreign Trade Council President William Reinsch as a new member.
