Reefer firm Seatrade relocating to Tauranga in New Zealand

Reefer firm Seatrade relocating to Tauranga in New Zealand Antwerp, Belgium-based reefer shipping operator Seatrade Reefer Chartering n.v. has decided to relocate from Auckland and consolidate on Tauranga as its primary port in New Zealand.
   The move will see an additional 18 Seatrade vessels call at Tauranga each year.
   “The Port of Auckland has served us well but commercially it makes no sense to continue that regular call in future. Auckland export and import container cargoes will be connected via the Tauranga Metroport system. Customers will experience a seamless transition,” said Seatrade NZ Managing Director Michael Evans.
   Evans added that the decision follows the recent securing of long-term contracts that will require increased number of vessels and containers on the New Zealand to Europe and United Kingdom trade route.
   From February, Seatrade’s agency and sales office will relocate from Auckland to new offices adjacent to the wharf area in Mount Maunganui
