Regulatory Digest – July 3rd, 2017

USTR met with Japan’s Trade Minister on 6/30
United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer met with Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade, and Industry Hiroshige Seko last week in preparation for the President’s meeting with Prime Minister Abe this week. The two discussed the importance of addressing bilateral trade imbalance and cooperative enforcement against third party country practices that contribute to the imbalances.

U.S. China Economic Security Review Commission
The U.S. China Economic and Security review commission will be holding meeting on 7/12, 7/13, and 7/14. These meetings are open to the public and will discuss the health of China’s economy before meeting to review and edit drafts of the Commission’s annual report to Congress.

Intelligent Transporation Systems Advisory Committee
The ITS program advisory committee was established to advise on all matters relating to the study, development, and implementation of intelligent transportation systems. They will convene meetings open to the public on July 18th and 19th and discuss connected vehicles.
