Report says DP World eyeing Halifax    Dubai Ports World, having been rebuffed in efforts to acquire terminals in the United States, is now considering whether to invest in container terminals in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canadian newspapers the Globe and Mail and Toronto Star report.
   Nova Scotia Sen. Wilfred Moore is quoted as saying he visited Dubai as a member of the Canadian Parliament’s standing committee on defense and security, and held two meetings with DP World executives, who expressed interest in investing in Halifax.
   The Globe and Mail said, “one obvious takeover target would be Halifax-based Halterm Income Fund, which operates one of two container terminals on Halifax Harbour.” The other container terminal in Halifax is owned by Ceres Terminals Inc. of Weehawken, N.J.
   “They mentioned that they would like to come to Halifax, and I thought that was positive news so I tried to encourage it,” Moore is quoted as saying.
   Douglas Rose, president of Halterm was not available for comment.
