Rodriggs aims to help Jacksonville port grow Latin business    The Port of Jacksonville has named shipping industry veteran Joshua Rodriggs manager of Latin American marketing and trade development.
   Rodriggs, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, got his start in the industry in the Brazilian sales office of Maersk Lines. He subsequently worked for Puerto Rico trade carrier NPR, then became the South Florida sales manager for Alianca/Hamburg Sud, before joining a non-vessel-operating common carrier in Miami.
   He is being brought in to help grow the port's business in the Latin American trades, and will be assisting Raul Alfonso, port director of container cargo marketing and trade development.
      'J.R. has the contacts, the knowledge and the drive to be a major player for us in the area of trade development in Latin America,' Alfonso said. 'We welcome his energy and expertise as we not only look as an organization to new trade with Asia and Europe, but continue to cultivate business with our neighbors to the south.'
