Rohrmann to join Panalpina board
Air cargo veteran Guenter Rohrmann has been tapped to join the board of global freight forwarder Panalpina.
Rohrmann, 67, retired in 2006 from DHL Express, where he was chief executive officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He headed U.S. forwarder Air Express International when it was acquired by Deutsche Post in 1999 and later held top management positions in follow-on mergers with Danzas AEI, and then DHL.
Rohrmann is a past chairman of Cargo Network Services (an arm of the International Air Transport Association), board member of the Cargo 2000 standards organization, and vice president of The International Air Cargo Association.
The Swiss company noted in its quarterly financial report last week that Rohrmann’s nomination to the board will be voted on during the annual meeting on May 6. ' Eric Kulisch
