Rooney appointed senior VP of CMA CGM (America)

Rooney appointed senior VP of CMA CGM (America)    Bill Rooney has joined CMA CGM (America) Inc. as senior vice president, service delivery, based in Virginia Beach, Va.
   He will report to John J. van de Merwe, the president of the U.S. subsidiary of French carrier CMA CGM.
   The position of senior vice president, service delivery has been created due to the growing importance of the back office functions which are housed in Virginia Beach, the company said. The functions include customer service, documentation, inland transportation, finance and accounting.
   Rooney as a former long-serving senior executive of Sea-Land Service. He was most recently a partner in the Mercator Transport consulting group and, prior to that, a senior executive with GT Nexus.
