Royal Vopak to expand Santos terminal

Tank storage company and terminal operator Royal Vopak’s expansion at the Port of Santos will add 16 new tanks, boosting the terminal’s total capacity to 235,000 cubic meters.    Tank storage company and terminal operator Royal Vopak is expanding its wholly-owned terminal in Alemoa at the Port of Santos.
   The expansion, which is expected to be commissioned in early 2019, will add 16 new tanks with a capacity of 61,000 cubic meters, boosting the terminal’s total capacity to 235,000 cubic meters, Royal Vopak said.
   Five new truck loading bays will be constructed in order to handle an additional 130 trucks daily.
   The expansion is funded by long-term customer contracts, who will utilize the new capacity for ethanol exports and diesel and gasoline imports in and out of Brazil.
   Rotterdam-based Royal Vopek operates 67 terminals around the world and specializes in the handling and storage of bulk liquid products and gases.
