RSPA TO HOLD DANGEROUS GOODS MEETING

   The U.S. Transportation Department’s Research and Special Programs Administration will hold a public meeting in Washington on Aug. 7 to review the results of the United Nation’s Subcommittee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods session, which was held in Geneva, Switzerland, July 2-6.

   The RSPA meeting topics will include: global harmonization of classification criteria; criteria for environmentally hazardous substances; intermodal requirements for the transport of solids in bulk containers; harmonized requirements for compressed gas cylinders; classification of individual substances; requirements for packaging used to transport hazardous materials; requirements for infectious substances; and hazard communication requirements.
