Rutges offers new delivery service

Rutges Cargo has launched 'Urgent,' a new express delivery service for customers needing to move valuable, time- and temperature-sensitive shipments within Europe.

The European truck operator, which serves customers in the air cargo, high-tech, pharmaceutical and perishable sectors, said it has invested in a fleet of small vans capable of carrying up to 1,400 kilos of product. It said prime customers for Urgent have been identified in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, high-tech and luxury goods sectors.

The new service will be rolled out in phases, starting around the company's home territory in Amsterdam, followed by the whole of the Netherlands and ultimately across Europe. Rutges currently operates scheduled truck services to about 100 airports on the continent.

'The launch of this service is initially to satisfy existing customers that require a fast and secure, small van operation but we also see considerable potential beyond just our current client base,' said Bart Waals, sales executive for Rutges, in a statement. 'Urgent combines all of the features that underpin our other transport services, including GPS tracking and onboard computers to ensure the security of the shipments we are carrying.”
