Saddle Creek opens cross-dock operation at Florida HQ

Saddle Creek opens cross-dock operation at Florida HQ Third-party logistics company Saddle Creek Corp. has completed a new high-volume cross-dock at its Lakeland, Fla. headquarters.
   The 98,600-square-foot facility is designed to provide distribution services for an existing perishable food manufacturer account. Saddle Creek expects the building to be about 40 percent larger than the manufacturer’s initial requirements, so it will use the remaining portion for other business until the food customer has need for the additional space.
   “By building a comprehensive cross-dock facility with room to grow, we’ll be able to accommodate our customer’s increased volume now and their projected double-digit growth in years to come,” said Michael DelBovo, senior vice president of Saddle Creek Transportation Inc., a subsidiary of Saddle Creek Corp.
