Safmarine 4,154-TEU ship for Asia/South Africa loop
Safmarine Container Lines today named the third in a series of 4,154-TEU ships from Hyundai Heavy Industries, at the Korean company’s Ulsan shipyard.
The “Safmarine Mafadi” is 293 meters (958 feet) long and 32.25 meters (106 feet) wide with a service speed of 24.5 knots.
The vessel will be entered into Safmarine’s joint Asia/South Africa Safari service with sister company Maersk Line on May 12.
The remaining ships in the series will be delivered by the end of the year.
