Safmarine to start multipurpose U.S./West Africa service    A.P. Moller-Maersk subsidiary Safmarine Container Lines will start at the end of this month a multipurpose liner service between the United States and West Africa.
   The Angorex service will have a sailing frequency of every 21 days calling Houston, Malabo, Soyo, Luanda, Lobito, Pointe Noire, Abidjan, San Pedro, Camden, Savannah and back to Houston.
   “This new multipurpose liner service will provide specialist shippers with another transportation option into Angola, Malabo and Pointe Noire, and is a further commitment by Safmarine to serve the oil and gas industries in West Africa, as well as West African commodity exports,” said Albert Pegg, multipurpose vessel executive at Safmarine.
   Following the start of the Angorex loop, Safmarine will offer three regular North America/Africa services.
