Connection has 700 employees and 20 terminals in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio, states where Saia had not operated previously. Prior to this acquisition, Saia had about 7,600 employees and 129 terminals in 30 states across most of the United States, except New England, mid-Atlantic region, Montana and Wyoming.
The two companies plan to integrate their operations by February.
