Salmon supplier to use Amber Road for restricted party screening

Norway-based Marine Harvest is the largest supplier of farmed Atlantic salmon and saw the need to automate a previously manual process due to increased scrutiny of trading partners.    The world’s largest supplier of farmed Atlantic salmon, Norway-based Marine Harvest, has signed a five-year deal to use global trade management solutions provider Amber Road to automate restricted party screening.
Marine Harvest works with a network of more than 100,000 global suppliers, forwarders and customers. The decision to use an automated RSP solution was driven primarily by increasingly tough global trade regulations and a need to automated what had previously been a manual function.
In particular, Marine Harvest wanted to ensure its trading partners are in compliance in light of Russia being specifically targeted for additional sanctions and scrutiny.
Amber Road’s RSP tool, part of the company’s Export On-Demand platform, incorporates data from more than 300 restricted party lists from government institutions worldwide. The system was implemented in three months, the company said.
“Amber Road provides a straightforward and fast solution to screen our customers and suppliers, providing the security that we don’t do business with anyone on a denied party list,” said Johan Sorensen, manager of business systems at Marine Harvest. “Additionally, the U.S. banks we work with require us to screen our suppliers and customers in order for us to make use of their financial services.”
