Samskip makes two agency appointments in South America
Iceland's Samskip Reefer Logistics has appointed Transaltic SA to be its representative in Argentina, and named Unitrader International as its agent in Brazil.
Buenos Aires-based Transaltic books reefer and dry cargo to and from Argentina and is also active in warehousing, cold storage, customs clearance, road haulage and associated activities.
Samskip already has a presence in Brazil, having established an office in Salvador last year. But the company said the appointment of Unitrader, which specializes in the shipment of fruit and vegetables, paper, plastic resins and cotton, would expand its geographical scope. Headquartered in Sao Paulo, Unitrader also has offices in Petrolina, Recife and Itajai.
Samskip and Unitrader will also explore synergies in the movement of other commodities capable of being shipped in standard containers, the Icelandic company said.
