Samsung seeks halt of Sharp LCD imports Samsung Electronics filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission last week charging that Japanese rival Sharp Corp. and its U.S. subsidiaries engaged in unfair trade practices and patent infringement on imported liquid crystal displays, according to news reports and confirmed by a search of the agency's docket.
      The South Korean company has requested that the ITC initiate an investigation and issue an order barring imports of products such as notebook computers, cell phones, computer monitors and televisions with Sharp LCDs that infringed Samsung's patents.       Samsung is the world's largest maker of liquid crystal displays for televisions and other displays.
   The two companies are engaged in a tit-for-tat battle. Earlier this month Sharp sued Samsung in South Korean court for infringing on patents for high definition televisions. Sharp is seeking damages and an injunction against selling the products in South Korea. Last summer, Sharp filed a similar suit against Samsung and its subsidiaries in the United States.
   Samsung said it was also pursuing lawsuits in Texas and Delaware, according to the Associated Press.
