San Diego port offices closed due to SoCal wildfires

Fires that have burned across a wide swath of San Diego County, causing an estimated $1 billion in damages and destroying upwards of 2,000 structures, have also led to the closure of the administrative office for the Unified Port of San Diego.

The port authority, which administers the commercial Port of San Diego and the San Diego International Airport, has remained closed since Monday. A day to day decision on the closure remains in effect indefinitely. Employees are being provided with contacts numbers for information about work status.

According to the Southern California Marine Exchange, which monitors ship traffic in and out of the Southern California region including San Diego, no delays were being reported on actual San Diego port activity.
