Santa Ana named director of engineering design at Long Beach port

Santa Ana named director of engineering design at Long Beach port The Port of Long Beach has appointed Jim Santa Ana as director of engineering design.
   A 26-year veteran of the port engineering industry, Santa Ana will lead the newly created division, which produces technical reports, studies, plans and specifications for construction projects involving terminals, wharves, roadway and bridges, harbors and other facilities. Santa Ana, who has been serving as the port's deputy chief harbor engineer of design, will also be responsible for managing multiple port in-house design projects and studies.
   Before joining the port in 1999, Santa Ana served for 19 years at the neighboring Port of Los Angeles, developing numerous terminal projects for firms such as American President Lines, Matson, Evergreen and Yang Ming terminals in San Pedro.
   A member of the American Public Works Association, Santa Ana is also the port's representative to the American Society of Civil Engineers Technical Council of Lifeline Earthquake Engineering and the Western Ports Engineering Committee.
