SAP TO OFFER TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE Software giant SAP AG announced plans to offer transportation planning and vehicle scheduling applications to its supply chain management software customers, beginning in February. SAP will use dispatcher software made by California-based ILOG Inc. ILOG also provides the transportation optimization software in SAP’s Advanced Planner and Optimizer, or APO, suite of supply chain products. SAP is offering APO as part of its mySAP.com sales push. SAP said the new software will allow SAP users to “simultaneously consider various transportation constraints to optimize and plan transportation through their own or independent carriers.” SAP, the world’s largest supplier of enterprise resource planning software, rocked the supply chain software market last year when it announced it was developing the APO product.
