SAS Cargo puts extra capacity on Dubai and Bangkok routes SAS Cargo has added capacity on its Scandinavia services to and from Bangkok and Dubai as part of its winter traffic program that started Wednesday.
   As a result of the changes, the airline is adding about 30 tons each way for Bangkok with two new weekly frequencies from Stockholm. The new service will complement SAS Cargo’s five weekly Copenhagen/Bangkok departures. The company said Swedish shippers will save about one day in transit time as a result of the new connection.
   “Bangkok is an important hub for us and it will improve our products to the Southeast Asian region,” said Nils Pries-Knudsen, SAS Cargo’s vice president of global sales.
   The new capacity to Dubai is a supplement to the current all-cargo capacity, which SAS Cargo has between Gothenburg and Dubai three times a week. About 45 tons each way will be added with three extra weekly services.
   “With six weekly frequencies on both passenger- and all-cargo aircrafts it is possible for SAS Cargo to offer a quite unique transport solution between Scandinavia and Dubai,” Pries-Knudsen said. “This will especially benefit our customers with a demand for express products and special products.”
   The airline has appointed Dnata Cargo as its local sales and handling agent for the United Arab Emirates.
