Savi Tech equipment wrapped into multimillion-dollar U.S. Army order

Savi Tech equipment wrapped into multimillion-dollar U.S. Army order Equipment featuring radio frequency identification technology developed by Savi Technology is part of a recently awarded $37.3 million U.S. Army order for mobile satellite transceivers.
   Comtech Telecommunications Corp. recently said its Germantown, Md.-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., received orders totaling $37.3 million under its Movement Tracking System, or MTS contract, with the U.S. Army. These orders are the first received against the new $605.1 million MTS contract.
   The orders are for the supply of various products and services including Comtech's MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers, ruggedized and control station computers, technical support services and miscellaneous system components for MTS, Army National Guard and Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below, or FBCB2.
   Comtech's Model MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers feature embedded RFID technology, including Savi Technology’s EchoPoint RFID Reader, as well as secure Global Positioning System capabilities.
   Mountain View, Calif.-based Savi Technology is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lockheed Martin Corp.
