SCHENKER ACQUIRES INTEREST IN ACCO LOGISTICS
Schenker's Australian subsidiary has acquired a controlling interest in ACCO Logistics Pty Ltd., a logistics company providing warehousing and distribution services to the Australian high-tech market.
Schenker Sydney will combine its Rydalmere operations with ACCO's to produce about 10,000 square meters of warehouse space, in addition to Schenker Sydney's 4,000-square-meter Alexandria facility.
Schenker Sydney will concentrate its logistics activities at Rydalmere while Alexandria will remain the center for the Schenker subsidiary's freight forwarding activity. Schenker's Warehouse Management System will be installed and operated at both locations.
Schenker Australia, established in 1962 in Sydney, provides international air and sea forwarding and integrated logistics services from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and a subsidiary office in Auckland/New Zealand.
