Schenker, Khimji Ramdas enter JV in Oman

   German freight forwarder DB Schenker Logistics will establish a joint venture with long-time partner Khimji Ramdas Group in Oman.
   In early 2012, the new company Schenker Khimji’s LLC will provide comprehensive air, ocean, land transport; contract logistics; and supply chain management.
   Martin Hackl, DB Schenker’ delegate in Oman, will become managing director of the new company.
   “We have been in discussion with DB Schenker on this JV for some time” said M.C. Jose, chief executive officer for Khimji Ramdas Projects and Logistics Group. “We see the market growing steadily with new ports and airports being established in different regions in Oman. This joint venture partnership will enhance our position in the GCC region (Gulf Cooperation Council) and it is an important association for Khimji Ramdas moving forward.”
