Schenker redefines range of standard sea freight products    Schenker has standardized its ocean transport services under a redefined product range and introduced a standardized worldwide bill of lading.
   Within the new product range, a service called “Schenkercomplete” deals with full containerload activities; “Schenkercombine” is a service for consolidated container shipments; while Schenkerprojects is aimed at project shipments, general cargo which cannot be containerized and any other activities.
   Schenker has also designed a worldwide standardized bill of lading to meet new legal and political requirements of international sea freight. “In addition to increasing legal security and standardizing shipping conditions across Schenker’s sea freight offices worldwide, the new bill of lading takes full account of the new realities of C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism),” Schenker said.
   The German forwarder said it increased its worldwide container traffic volume from roughly 450,000 TEUs in 2000 to 700,000 TEUs in 2003.
   Schenker is part of Stinnes, itself a subsidiary of the German railway Deutsche Bahn AG.
