Schenker starts Cairo joint venture    DB Schenker said Thursday it has started a joint venture operation in Egypt with ITS International Transport Service, its longtime partner in the country.
   “The management and staff of our new joint venture is very familiar with the Egyptian market and customers,' said Peter Glatz, regional director Near Middle East/East Africa, Schenker AG. 'This will enrich our position in the region.'
   Since August, the company has established joint ventures in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. The Dubai location serves as regional head office for its activities in the U.A.E., Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Libanon, Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
