SCHNEIDER LOGISTICS ISSUES SOFTWARE UPGRADE
Schneider Logistics, a provider of supply chain management technology, announced on Wednesday the availability of SUMIT 7.0, the latest version of Schneider’s proprietary suite of execution software.
New functions include support yard management, cross-dock execution, and expanded international business requirements.
One new function allows commingling of customers’ freight at a cross-dock. Another new component permits an electronic systems interface, permitting the transfer of ship notices and data about arriving equipment in both ANSI x 12 and EDIFACT standards.
The SUMIT system, delivered though a hosted business service provider model, includes rating, optimization, transportation management, order release and supplier management applications.
