SCI opens international DC for Toys ‘R’ Us Canada

   Toys “R” Us Canada has partnered with Canadian third party logistics services provider SCI Logistics to open a new distribution center in Delta, British Columbia, to serve the western Canadian market.
   The 180,000-square-foot facility is designed to receive goods from overseas and domestic manufacturers to ship directly to British Columbia for distribution to local Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores.
   “The new west coast distribution center provides us with the additional capacity and flexibility to service our customers and distribution needs in Western Canada,” said Krista Collinson, vice president of logistics, ecommerce and business development for Toys “R” Us Canada, in a statement.
   SCI will provide cross-docking, transload, order fulfillment and store replenishment capabilities, with a fully automated sorting system that scales to support the large seasonal swings of the retail business.
