SciQuest and MercuryGate partner on TMS/procurement tools

TMS provider MercuryGate users will have access to SciQuest’s transportation procurement solutions, while SciQuest users will be able to use MercuryGate solutions for transportation execution.

The transportation management system provider MercuryGate and procurement software provider SciQuest announced they will join forces to provide their services to common customers.
SciQuest’s transportation sourcing tools will be available to Mercury Gate TMS users and vice versa. Both companies use cloud-based architecture.
”SciQuest and MercuryGate have very complementary offerings and we serve a common customer base,” said Jeremy Becker, vice president, business development at SciQuest. “This partnership is designed to promote SciQuest’s Advanced Sourcing Optimizer to MercuryGate Customers in need of strategic transportation sourcing while promoting MercuryGate’s Transportation Management System to SciQuest Customers who are in need of execution systems.”
SciQuest in 2013 acquired fellow procurement solutions provider CombineNet, creating scale in an industry with a few major providers. One of CombineNet’s key markets was transportation.
“There is great alignment between the customer bases at MercuryGate and SciQuest,” said Dan Vertachnik, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at MercuryGate.
MercuryGate provides a range of transportation management solutions, with specific products aimed at shipper, carrier and broker markets. The addition of procurement capability will allow user to more easily merge procurement and execution of transportation. SciQuest will be added to MercuryGate’s roster of more than 25 public and private technology partners.
