Sea Star announces bunker charge increases Sea Star Line said it will impose a new round of bunker fuel surcharge increases in November for its Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Island, and Eastern Caribbean services.
   For shipments between Puerto Rico and its Florida terminals in Jacksonville and Port Everglades, the surcharge will increase to $410 (from $375) for 20-foot containers, $455 (from $420) for 40- and 45-foot containers, $495 (from $455) for 48- and 53-foot containers, and $185 (from $165) for automobiles.
   For shipments between Puerto Rico and the Sea Star terminals in Port Elizabeth, N.J. and Houston, the charge will increase to $475 for 40- and 45-foot containers, from $430.
   For shipments between the U.S. Virgin Islands and Sea Star's Florida ports, the surcharge will increase to $450 (from $415) for 20-foot containers, $495 (from $460) for 40- and 45-foot containers, $535 (from $495) for 48- and 53-foot containers, and $195 (from $175) for automobiles.
   For 40- and 45-foot containers moving over Port Elizabeth or Houston, the charge will increase to $515 from $470.
   Those increases will also take effect Nov. 11.
   Eastern Caribbean increases will take effect Nov. 25. For Jacksonville, Port Everglades, and San Juan shipments, the surcharge will be $450 (from    $415) for 20-foot containers, $495 (from $460) for 40- and 45-foot containers, $535 (from $495) for 48- and 53-foot containers, and $195 (from $175) for automobiles.
   For Port Elizabeth and Houston shipments, the surcharge will increase from $470 to $515 for 40- and 45-foot containers.
