Sea Star expands development and training team

Sea Star expands development and training team Sea Star Line Thursday said it has revised and expanded the company development and training team, promoting Yessica Cancel to director of organizational development, bringing in Maria Metzer as manager of organizational development, and promoting Susan Bowen to director of organizational development and learning.

'Yessica and Susan have both demonstrated the type of dedication and performance that are needed to make our business better, and understand what is required to challenge our organization and continue raising the bar throughout company. This is a people business'our organizational development efforts provide the foundations that ultimately determine our capabilities and service levels. We believe that Yessica and Susan can provide the leadership and commitment that is essential to ensure those foundations are strong.'
   Cancel joined Sea Star in 2005 as manager of organizational development, the position now held by Metzer. Cancel previously worked for ITEL, Inc., where she held several key human resources positions before being named human resources manager.
   Metzer has joined Sea Star from Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, where she served as the East Coast human resources manager. She will report directly to Cancel.
   Bowen joined Sea Star in 2001 as training manager, after working in organizational development and training for more than 20 years.
