Sea Star holding off on drop charge
Sea Star Line plans to hold off on implementation of a drop charge for South Florida that had been scheduled to take effect on January 1.
Sea Star said a new implementation date will be determined after further review. The Port of Jacksonville is Sea Star's primary port in the Puerto Rico trade, but it also offers sailings from Port Everglades. A drop charge is an additional charge for repositioning equipment, much like the extra charge for renting a car in one city and returning it to the rental company in another city.
