Sea Star lowering bunker fuel surcharge
Sea Star Line says it will lower its bunker fuel surcharge for its Puerto Rico trade services effective November 5.
Sea Star said that as its own fuel costs decrease, it is able to pass the saving onto its customers. The bunker fuel charge will decrease from $355 to $330 for 20-foot containers, from $395 to $365 for 40- and 45-foot containers, and from $420 to $395 for 48- and 53-foot containers. The charge for automobiles will go from $160 to $145. Other self-propelled or towable units will decrease from $315 to $290. The unit charges for breakbulk cargo will decrease from $125 to $115.
