The new surcharge will be $390 for 20-foot containers, up from $370; $430 for 40-foot containers, up from $405; $460 for 48- and 53-foot containers, up from $435; and $165 for automobiles, up from $155.
Seas Star said it has not adjusted the bunker surcharge since Nov. 5, and over the last five weeks, it has seen its bunker fuel prices increase by more than 15 percent.
