Sea Star starts Eastern Caribbean service

Sea Star starts Eastern Caribbean service Jacksonville-based Sea Star Lines says it will begin offering service to the Eastern Caribbean, beginning July 24.
   Sea Star, best known for its service to Puerto Rico, said it will initially call St. Johns, Antigua; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Roadtown, Tortola with the new service. The Eastern Caribbean ports will be served by a feeder vessel from San Juan, Puerto Rico, which will connect with the Sea Star vessels sailing from Port Everglades every Monday and Jacksonville every Tuesday. The roll-on/roll-off feeder vessel will depart from San Juan on Fridays.
   'This service offers an exciting enhancement to our current routes and allows both our existing customer base and new customers to utilize Sea Star to these destinations. In addition, market studies have shown with competitive transit times between Florida and the islands, our new routes are a good fit both for Sea Star Line, our customers and the islands we will serve' said Frank Peake, Sea Star's president and chief operating officer.
