Seaboard purchased the Romea from Visemar Transporti of Italy for an undisclosed price and is renaming the vessel the Seaboard Sun. The 7,746-deadweight-ton vessel can carry nearly 400 TEUs of containerized cargo, depending on the cargo mix and configuration.
It is Seaboard's second vessel purchase this year, after purchasing a multipurpose tweendecker in January that it named the Seaboard Reliance.
