Seafarer perishes in Houston Ship Channel incident

A ship worker died Saturday afternoon after losing his balance and falling 50 feet onto a ship, according to a report from local media outlet Click2Houston.com.    A seafarer perished Saturday afternoon after losing his balance and falling 50 feet onto a ship while it was being worked in the Houston Ship Channel, according to a report from local media outlet Click2Houston.com, which cited the Harris County Sherriff’s Department.
   Officials did not release the name of the worker or the ship involved, but witnesses said the vessel was sitting in Buffalo Bayou near Industrial Road at the time of the incident.
   Federal investigators and the U.S. Coast Guard are on scene to investigate the incident.
