The line said the halt is due to a slowdown in productivity in the terminal.
“The duration of the slowdown in operations is currently not known,” the line said. “Bookings are accepted as normal to and from Alexandria.”
SCCT is operated and majority-owned by APM Terminals, the terminal operating arm of the Maersk Group and Seago’s sister company. Other shareholders in the terminal are COSCO Pacific, the Suez Canal Authority and the Egyptian government.
