Seattle port board election: One incumbent out, one race undecided

Seattle port board election: One incumbent out, one race undecided Two incumbent members of the Port of Seattle Commission appear to have lost re-election bids in a hotly contested campaign where one race remains undecided.
Sitting Commissioner Alec Fisken appears to be losing his bid for another term to challenger Bill Bryant, in the last major contest still undecided from Tuesday's election.
Monday morning results on the King County election Web page listed Bryant on top by 4,737 votes and 100 percent of the precincts counted. Bryant received 149,039 votes to Fisken’s 144,302. As of Friday evening, Fisken had trailed Bryant by 6,062 votes and Saturday's counting narrowed the gap to just under 5,800 votes. More than 35,000 votes were counted on Saturday alone. King's County officials said more votes would be reported on Tuesday evening. City offices are closed today for the Veteran's Day holiday.
Fisken, 59, has yet to concede the race and said Friday he may wait awhile before doing so. Fisken, a city of Seattle policy analyst who was elected to his first term on the port commission in 2003, said he had polled strong in the city but returns from the outlying areas were 'disastrous.'
The 47-year-old Bryant is chairman of agricultural exporter lobbying firm Bryant Christie.
In the other port commission race on the ballot, Gael Tarleton was edged by incumbent commissioner Bob Edwards, 53.8 percent to 45.8 percent.
The state Canvassing Board is set to convene on Nov. 27 to certify the results of the election.
