Security zone set for Chesapeake LNG terminal    The U.S. Coast Guard has set a 500-yard security zone around a liquefied natural gas terminal in the Maryland Chesapeake Bay, effective Jan. 29.
   The agency is concerned about the possibility of terrorist attacks launched by vessels in close proximity of the Cove Point LNG Terminal. Dominion Corp. reopened the 25-year-old terminal on July 25.
   The Coast Guard has the authority to set security zones around terminals under the 2002 Maritime Transportation Security Act.
   The Coast Guard said it believes the 500-yard security zone around the Cove Point LNG Terminal is “the appropriate size to provide both public safety and security of the terminal.”
