Former CEVA Logistics executive vice president Joe Bento has joined SEKO Logistics as its chief sales officer for North America.
SEKO is a full-service third-party logistics provider with roots in the freight forwarding business. It has more than 100 offices around the world.
At CEVA, Bento also held the positions of president of global freight management and president for the Americas region. He previously was president North America and chief marketing officer for Eagle Global Logistics (EGL) prior to its acquisition by CEVA and Apollo Management.
Bento was at the center of the controversial buyout of EGL, eventually siding with the Apollo Investment group while owner Jim Crane and other officers unsuccessfully fought to retain control of the company. – Eric Kulisch
