SEKO to use Descartes technology

Itasca, Ill.-based transportation and logistics company SEKO Worldwide has signed a contract to use Descartes Systems Group’s Local Haulage Service Internet tool, designed to integrate its pick-up and delivery agents across North America.

“This advanced freight management service represents a significant opportunity for SEKO Worldwide in terms of transportation spend and internal resource allocation,” said Tom Madzy, SEKO’s chief information officer.

“Descartes’ Local Haulage Service gives our regional and corporate offices the ability to consolidate shipments for increased transportation savings; select the most appropriate carriers; communicate electronically with the selected carriers; and then audit carrier invoices. We see significant ways to utilize these services to support our global services and the global supply chains of our customer,” said Madzy.
