Sen. McCain and Gov. Schwarzenegger to tour L.A.-Long Beach ports

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in the driver's seat Wednesday as he leads Sen. John McCain on an aerial tour of the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports.

The purpose of the tour, to include the truck-clogged 710 freeway, shipping terminals and a flyover the port of Long Beach, is so Schwarzenegger can show McCain his plan of action to limit greenhouse gases by introducing low carbon fuel standards.

The governor, pushing his expressed desire to see some kind of legislation be undertaken nationally, also briefed Rudy Giuliani on the state's climate change initiative when the former New York mayor recently visited.

McCain and Giuliani are likely candidates for the Republican nomination in the 2008 presidential race.
