Service Announcements: NYK, Panalpina, JAXPORT, Reddaway and Coyne Airways

NYK introduces new intra-Asia service; Panalpina expands controlled airfreight network to Brazil; FCA US selects JAXPORT to import 2015 Jeep Renegade; Reddaway relocates Stockton terminal; and Coyne Airways appoints KIWI Logistics as GSA in Singapore.    Ocean carrier NYK Line will expand its intra-Asia service offerings by introducing a new weekly loop between Japan, Thailand and Vietnam, dubbed the Phoenix 2.
   NYK’s current Phoenix service, which will operate with three 1,400-TEU vessels, will be renamed Phoenix 1 to differentiate between the two loops. The revised rotation of the Phoenix 1, commencing with the Cape Ferrol sailing from Bangkok March 29, will be Osaka, Kobe, Tokyo, Yokohama, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh, and back to Osaka.
   The Phoenix 2, commencing with the NYK Daniela sailing from Laem Chabang March 28, will operate with three vessels with an average capacity of 2,700 TEUs. The full port rotation of the service will be Tokyo, Yokohama, Shimizu, Nagoya, Kobe, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh, and back to Tokyo. According to a statement from NYK, the Phoenix 2 will sport the fastest transit times available between Kobe and Laem Chabang, at only six days.

   Panalpina in March will expand its controlled air freight network, adding a full-freighter service to Brazil as part of its recently renewed long-term agreement with Atlas Air. 
   The company will operate scheduled charter flights from Hong Kong to Huntsville, Alabama and from Huntsville to São Paulo, Brazil, offering a total transit time of less than 40 hours from Hong Kong to São Paulo. Initially, Panalpina will operate two scheduled flights per week from Huntsville to São Paulo on Atlas Air 747-400 freighters.
   Panalpina said in a statement, “The direct service from Huntsville to São Paulo, called Brazil Wings, has been specifically designed for customers in the Midwest and in parts of the Southeastern United States. The new service is tailored to companies that manufacture heavy machines and equipment for agriculture and mining.”

   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US LLC tapped JAXPORT to import its all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade, the first Jeep ever to be built exclusively outside of the United States, according to a statement from the port.
   Grimaldi Lines will ship the vehicles, which are being built at the FCA facility in Melfi, Italy, and AMPORTS will handle vehicle processing at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal. The first shipment of Jeep Renegades arrived in Jacksonville in February for processing and delivery to dealerships.
   The port said the new Fiat 500X subcompact crossover will also be imported through JAXPORT beginning later this year.

   Oregon City-based LTL and next-day trucking carrier Reddaway has relocated its terminal in Stockton, Calif., according to a statement from the company.
   The new terminal, with 50 doors and a 100-foot wide dock, features twice the yard space, 47 percent more dock space and a more modern office environment.

   Coyne Airways appointed KIWI Logistics Cargo GSA as its General Sales Agent in Singapore.
   According to a statement from the company, Coyne’s services to the oil and gas markets around the Caspian Sea are particularly popular with freight forwarders in Singapore, and KIWI Logistics, established in 2013, will bring “a fresh approach to airline cargo sales in this developed market, with a focus on efficiency, simplicity and reliability.”
