Service Announcements: Troy Container Line, CaroTrans and CMA CGM

Troy Container Line announces new LCL service from Malaysia to New York, CaroTrans introduces new Shanghai import service to Seattle and Portland and CMA CGM adds Ningbo to its REX3 loop.

   Troy Container Line will begin a new direct less-than-container load import service from Malaysia to New York City, according to a statement from the company. The NVOCC will now offer an enhanced import logistical solution from Port Kelang in addition to pick-ups throughout Malaysia.
   Import Chief Operations Officer Chris Hellow said of the new LCL service, “Troy Container Line is committed to cost-effective, efficient service. Our knowledge and expertise of the importing process provides unrivaled services throughout East Asian trade lanes, giving clients access to door pick-ups throughout the region as well as inland point intermodal (IPI) services to more than 80 destinations throughout the U.S.A.”

   NVOCC and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans will expand its Asia import service network with a new import service from Shanghai to the Pacific Northwest ports of Seattle and Portland, beginning April 12.
   According to a statement from CaroTrans, the new weekly Shanghai-to-Seattle service “bypasses Southern California port congestion.”
   CaroTrans also offers direct LCL services from Qingdao and Busan to Seattle to support import trade volumes into the region.

   Ocean carrier CMA CGM has added a call at Ningbo to its REX3 loop between China, Malaysia, the Middle East and East Africa, commencing with the March 11 sailing of the CMA CGM Topaz
   According to the ocean liner schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, the REX3, a joint offering from CMA CGM and fellow Ocean3 vessel sharing agreement partners United Arab Shipping Co. and China Shipping Container Lines, currently operates with seven vessels with an average capacity of 4,306 TEUs. The revised rotation of the service is Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Shekou, Port Kelang, Djibouti, Jeddah, Port Sudan, Djibouti, Port Kelang, and back to Ningbo.
   CMA CGM subsidiaries ANL and Delmas take slots on the REX3, along with Evergreen Line and Mitsui O.S.K. Line (MOL).
