Shah tapped as Delta’s new cargo chief

Shah tapped as DeltaÆs new cargo chief Delta Air Lines has named a new executive to oversee its cargo operations.
   Neel Shah, 38, will become vice president-cargo of the Atlanta-based carrier. Formerly he was vice president of sales and marketing for United Airlines Cargo. Shar replaces Ben Darnell, Delta's managing director of cargo, who has decided to leave the company after 22 years of service.
   Delta said Shah will report directly to President Ed Bastian, which the company said reflects 'the company's increased focus on building a world-class cargo business that leverages the size and scope of Delta's global network.'
   'Delta's ability to operate service to more worldwide destinations than any other airline has created a strong platform from which to build Delta Cargo into one of the world’s most extensive airline freight operations,' Bastian said.
