Shanghai restricting hazmats during Expo    Container carriers are cautioning that dangerous goods shipments will be restricted in the Shanghai area during Expo 2010.
   Organizers expect 70 million people to visit the world’s fair, which runs from May 1 until Oct. 31.
   APL announced that from April 15 to Nov. 15, all port terminals located in the middle and upstream parts of the Huangpu River are prohibited from handling any dangerous cargo, Also, all port terminals except for Yangshan terminals will be prohibited from handling dangerous cargo from April 30 to Oct. 31.
   APL said export of fireworks at Wai Gao Qiao terminals will require local authority's approval on a per-voyage basis.
   Similar cautions have been posted by MSC and Swire Shipping on their Web sites.
