Shenzhen container train adds Guangdong stop

Shenzhen container train adds Guangdong stop

A container train service linking the Shekou Container Terminal in the Port of Shenzhen to points around southern China has been extended to Shaoguan in northern Guangdong province.

The train runs six days a week, offering daily service between Shenzhen's western terminals and Changsha, Zhuzhou, Liling, Shaoguan, Kunming and Nanchang.

The service is part of sea-rail network designed to ferry cargo from China's hinterland to its biggest southern port by alleviating the need for long-haul trucking. Cargo is collected at yards in each of the cities.
